Frequently Asked Questions
SUVAT, which stands for Survivors United against Trafficking, is a non-profit organization committed to developing long-term pro-social activities that empower adolescents to share their stories and address stigma related to violence and human trafficking. Our mission is to reduce the fear of public knowledge generated in youth by perpetrators of violence and human trafficking, while providing a united front against stigma.
SUVAT's Youth Empowerment Network (YEN) provides at-risk youth with a supportive online platform for peer networking, mentorship, and access to resources addressing mental health, education, and violence prevention. Through YEN, youth can find support, guidance, and opportunities to thrive, regardless of their circumstances.
SUVAT harnesses the power of digital media to amplify youth voices and advocate for social justice issues such as violence prevention, mental health awareness, and positive youth development. Through DMSC, we empower youth to create positive change by equipping them with digital media skills and platforms to raise awareness, challenge stereotypes, and inspire action in their communities.
Individuals passionate about making a difference can volunteer with SUVAT and contribute to various programs and initiatives addressing poverty, healthcare disparities, and education. Volunteering offers an opportunity for personal development, networking, and gaining valuable experience in a dynamic, mission-driven organization. We also provide hours for school volunteer completion as well as an honorarium on occasion. To explore current volunteer opportunities and benefits, please visit our volunteer website.
